Original 1st printing 12&5/8 x 20" concert poster for the Grateful Dead appearing with Quicksilver Messenger Service and the P.H. Phactor Jug Band at the PSC College Center Ballroom on the campus of Portland State College in Portland, OR on 1/29/1968.
Art by George Hunter, similar images from the tour (Portland Crystal Ballroom/Seattle) are featured in the Art of Rock book on page 287.
Medium-thick flat vellum stock poster is in decent/used (B/B- to B-) condition; there is an approximately 1&1/2" area of paper missing from the upper left corner, a series of thin vertical staple hole drag tears (each about 1-1&1/2" long) and a couple of small pin/staple holes in each of the other three corners, a few fairly well-hidden horizontal roll creases, handling dings, stress bands and other assorted bits of minor wear camouflaged within the image area, a bit of black marker smear covering "Tues." and a tiny wedge tear in the upper right margin, otherwise fine.
While this example may have a few conditional issues, they don't detract too badly from the design of the piece- contrarily, the condition lends itself quite nicely to the old-west-style "torn down" look of the poster.
KILLER original Grateful Dead "Notice!" concert poster from the legendary winter 1968 tour of the Pacific Northwest.
