Original 1st printing 13&7/8 x 19&7/8" benefit concert poster (to provide funding for filmmaker Robert Nelson's movie "The Great Blondin"), held at the Fillmore Auditorium in San Francisco, CA on 3/11-12/1966. (2-day event lists Bill as the promoter in the bottom left corner).
Thin flat stock flyer lists appearances by Quicksilver Messenger Service (both days), along with the Great Society (featuring a pre-Jefferson Airplane Grace Slick) and the Gentlemen's Band (3/11) and Mystery Trend, Family Tree and Third Rail (3/12).
Artist unknown, image is not a numbered Bill Graham/Fillmore image (this show falls between the BG #1 and BG #2 shows), but it is featured in "The Art of the Fillmore" book on page 32.
Medium-thick flat vellum stock poster has been professionally restored to near mint to excellent (A-/B+ to B+) condition; a set of staple hoes (all four corners and top/bottom center) have been filled in, there are a couple of REALLY minor touch-ups in a few areas and the piece appears to have been cleaned/washed, but overall it looks absolutely SPECTACULAR.
A GORGEOUS example of this INCREDIBLY hard-to-find early PRE-BLL GRAHAM Fillmore poster!
