Original 20 x 15" 1989/90 hand-airbrushed original art on heavy Crescent art board featuring a flame-tailed human eyeball shooting across a desert sunset backdrop.
Art by (and SIGNED and numbered 50/60 by) Rick Griffin, the board itself is in very good (B/B+) condition; there is a small 1/4" white edge nip/pull and a soft diagonal bend/crease in the upper right margin, a series of thin diagonal bends in the lower right corner, a few tiny pin-prick surface spots, a couple of tiny pressure/indentation creases (mostly along the left/bottom edges), the corners all have a touch of peeling and there are a few random thin surface scratches/fingerprint smudges here and there, but overall the piece is pretty sharp, it would look just fine in a frame.
This image comes from a series of low-run/batch stencil-based airbrush paintings that were hand-done by Rick (in his un-ventilated garage), featuring different combinations of various 1960's-inspired (and beyond) icons. As the story goes, a good number of the stencil paintings have different registration quality, depending on where they were in the run.
INCREDIBLE-looking late-80's Rick Griffin ORIGINAL stencil with a nice large RG signature, this piece would look FANTASTIC framed up.
