Original 1st printing 14 x 22" concert poster for Jefferson Airplane* appearing with Gabor Szabo and the Jimi Hendrix Experience (first-ever Fillmore performances) appearing at the Fillmore Auditorium in San Francisco, CA on 6/20-25/1967 (*replaced on the final night by Big Brother & the Holding Company (featuring Janis Joplin).
Art by Clifford Charles Seely, image is # 69 in the Bill Graham/Fillmore series.
Medium-thick flat index stock poster has been professionally restored to near mint to excellent (A-/B+ to B+) condition; all four corner tips have been patched-in/painted over (roughly 1/4-1/2" in each corner) and there is a tiny 1" diagonal bend in the upper right corner and one or two nearly-invisible stress bends hiding within the image area, but overall the piece looks great- VERY professional restoration job, the color blends on the patched areas are extremely smooth/even.
A VIBRANT example of the original 1st printing concert poster from the 1967 San Francisco debut of the Jimi Hendrix Experience. As the story goes, Jimi was headlining the show by the end of the engagement... not exactly an "overnight" success, but pretty darn close!
