Original 1st printing 14 x 21" concert poster for Santana appearing with Steppenwolf and the Staple Singers from 8/27-29/1968 and the Grateful Dead appearing with the Preservation Hall Jazz Band and the Sons of Champlin from 8/30-9/1/1968, all shows held at the Fillmore West in San Francisco, CA. Art by (and SIGNED in silver ink by) Lee Conklin, image is # 134 in the Bill Graham/Fillmore series. Medium-thick flat index stock poster is in good to very good (B to B/B+) condition; there are a set of tack holes (top left/left center margin, lower left/bottom right corners), a 2&1/2" diagonal bend in the lower left corner, a hint of toning, a series of thin vertical stress bends running along the top margin, (the notorious "paper pinch" anomaly that often occurs on this poster), a bit of minor edge wear (a few tiny edge tears and creases), a couple of slight rub marks in the upper right corner (going across "West") that leads to a tiny pressure bend in the upper right margin, along with a large pair of tape remnants on the top bottom edges on the reverse), otherwise fine. Most of the conditional issues on this piece are VERY well-camouflaged by the design. A very decent-looking 1st printing example of Lee's classic "Santana Lion" image with a nice large artist's signature.
