Original 1st printing 14 x 20" concert poster and 6&1/2 x 8&3/4" handbill for Big Brother & the Holding Company (featuring Janis Joplin) appearing with the New Breed (with Timothy B. Schmidt (Poco/Eagles) at the Civic Auditorium in Stockton, CA on 4/16/1967. Art (poster) by Stanley Mouse, image is featured in the Art of Rock on page 262 (plate 3.22). Handbill designer is unknown. Medium-thin flat index stock poster is in near mint (A-/B+) condition; aside from a hint of edge/corner wear and a soft handling ding or two hiding within the image area, this example is pretty clean. Thin flat stock handbill is in good/decent (B) condition; there is a hard thin diagonal crease/bend traversing the center of the image, along with a few light handling creases here and there, a pair of well-camouflaged surface stains in the lower left/right corners of the image, a thin vertical crease in the top center margin and a tiny stain on the reverse, otherwise fine. A REALLY neat pair of original early-'67 Big Brother items from a small Central Valley show. The poster turns up fairly frequently, but this is the first time I have been able to offer the handbill.
