Original 12&1/2 x 16" (appx.) 1970 hand-drawn preliminary/proposal sketch (pencil with red marker border, rendered on tracing paper) for the Grateful Dead appearing with Commander Cody at the Family Dog on the Great Highway in San Francisco, CA from 2/27-3/1/1970 (*FD-700228 in the Eric King guide). Art by (and SIGNED in pencil by) Randy Tuten, sketch is in good/decent shape (a letter grade doesn't exactly apply here); the bottom/right-hand margins are both fairly rough with several decent-sized tears and VERY jagged/uneven edges, while the top and left margins are clean/sharp. Additionally, there are a few soft surface smudges and handling dings/light creases scattered all around the image area, but considering what it is (an unfinished sketch obtained right from the artist's studio), most of the conditional issues are pretty negligible. An absolutely AWESOME-looking one-of-a-kind ORIGINAL 1970 Grateful Dead preliminary sketch!
