Original 1st printing (*"blocked") 7 x 11" concert flyer/oversized handbill for the Grateful Dead appearing with Charlie Musselwhite and Petris at the Carousel Ballroom in San Francisco, CA from 5/30-6/1/1968. Art by Alton Kelley, image ("Memorial") is featured in the Art of Rock book on page 179 (plate 2.160). Medium-thin flat index stock flyer is in very good to excellent (B/B+ to B+) condition; a thin 2&1/2" horizontal stress bend bend extending from the lower left margin to the "a" of "Grateful", along with a series of soft pinch/handling dings scattered around the image area, a few light fingerprint smudges and a stray edge/corner ding or two, otherwise fine. A very decent-looking example of this classic 1968 Grateful Dead image from the Carousel. *This is the "blocked dates" version with the days of the week (Friday/Saturday/Sunday) at the top of the poster blacked out with magic marker (a good number of the existing examples that were distributed exhibit this trait).
