Original 1st printing 5&1/2" 8&1/2" concert handbill for Big Brother & the Holding Company (pre-Janis Joplin & Dave Getz) appearing at the Matrix in San Francisco, CA from 3/1-6/1966. 

 

 Art by Wes Wilson (not credited), thin flat stock flyer is in used (B-) condition; handbill is fairly well toned/discolored, there are multiple tack holes in each corner with a small wedge/drag tears in the upper right margin, a 1/2" diagonal nip out of the top left corner, a small stain on the "ng" of "Elevating", a small pen scratch in the lower left margin, a moderate amount of edge wear (numerous small dings, tiny tears and a couple of small wedge/nip tears), a few tiny pin-prick surface stains and light handling bends/tiny creases, otherwise fine.

 

 VERY EARLY Matrix handbill from the first run of shows by Big Brother, several months before Janis Joplin joined up (Dave Getz came aboard right after this engagement).
