Original 1st United States edition (printed in March/April of 1969 by Darien House of New York, it is the 2nd "official" printing) 23 x 33" European "kiosk"-style concert poster for the Jimi Hendrix Experience appearing at the Beethovenshalle in Stuttgart, (West) Germany on 1/15/1969* (the Stuttgart show was actually on the 19th, the 1/15 date was made up specifically for this edition of the poster). Design by Gunther Kieser, image is featured in the Art of Rock on page 311 (plate 3.185). Medium-thick flat index "fly posting" stock poster is in used (B-) condition; a 1&1/2" diagonal chunk out of the top left corner, a 9" vertical tear going down from the top center/left margin down into Jimi's face (sealed on the reverse with clear tape), plus a number of handling/stress creases, a moderate degree of edge wear, a curl to the paper from being rolled and a few stray surface dings here and there... this example has obviously seen better days- however, it is not without a certain amount of charm. Probably just about the most famous Hendrix concert image of ALL time (next to Rick Griffin's Flying Eyeball image, of course...), this example is perfect for an entry-level collector or someone who just loves the image.
