Original 1st printing 14 x 21" concert poster for Santana appearing with Steppenwolf and the Staple Singers from 8/27-29/1968 and the Grateful Dead appearing with the Preservation Hall Jazz Band and the Sons of Champlin from 8/30-9/1/1968, all shows held at the Fillmore West in San Francisco, CA. Art by Lee Conklin, image is # 134 in the Bill Graham/Fillmore series. Medium flat index stock poster is in decent/used (B-) condition; a moderate degree of toning, a few decent-sized tape pulls in the top right margin, right center margin and a few around "Staple Singers", numerous small bends/handling/surface dings/marks, a fair amount of edge wear ( tiny edge tears and creases), a pair of small wedge pulls in the top center margin, just to the right of the "sliced" "Bill Graham Presents" credit (apparently there was an entire part of the print run that exhibited this particular anomaly (I've seen at least two others that have the exact same registration issue), so it's not unique to this individual poster).... plus a bit of writing on the reverse (the original recipient's name/phone number and a hand-drawn "map" from San Jose- confirming this example was 100% taken down from public display in 1968)... this one has definitely been around the block, but it's a real-deal 1st printing that would normally go for quite a bit more if the condition wasn't so compromised. A very charming (if a bit) used 1st printing example of Lee's classic "Santana Lion" image, priced to move.
