 ITEM DESCRIPTION
Original 1st printing 5&3/8 x 8&1/2" concert handbill (a benefit for the Delano Grape Strikers/NFWA (National Farm Workers Association), which featured El Teatro Campesino (California Theater Troupe) appearing with Quicksilver Messenger Service and the San Andreas Fault Finders at the Fillmore Auditorium in San Francisco, CA on 7/10/1966.

Art by Wes Wilson, image is not part of the numbered Bill Graham/Fillmore series (this show falls on the day after the BG 16 show), the image (full color poster) is in the Art of Rock on page 150 (plate 2.69) in the "Fillmore Auditorium Benefits" chapter.

Thin flat stock handbill is in good (B) condition; a pair of thin horizontal bends traversing the top/bottom margins (each about 1/2" from the edge) a series of well-placed tiny staple/pin holes (top/bottom center, just to the right and directly on top of "El Teatro Campesino"), a soft bend in the upper right margin, an ultra-thin tape pull in the top center margin, assorted handling dings/tiny creases scattered around the image area/borders, a tiny smudge on the "A" of "Auditorium" and a thin 2" diagonal bend in the lower right corner, otherwise fine. Most of the conditional issues on this handbill mask themselves pretty well- the piece presents quite nicely.

Very uncommon early Fillmore benefit handbill. Read more about the ongoing productions and history of El Teatro Campesino HERE:
