Original 1st printing 14 x 20" concert poster for Quicksilver Messenger Service appearing with Big Brother & the Holding Company (featuring Janis Joplin) and the Jaywalkers on 7/1/1966, the Great! Society (featuring Grace Slick) appearing with Sopwith Camel and the Charlatans on 7/2/1966 and the Grateful Dead appearing with Love (featuring Arthur Lee) and Group B on 7/3/1966, all shows held at the Fillmore Auditorium in San Francisco, CA.
Art by Wes Wilson, image is # 14 in the Bill Graham/Fillmore series.
Medium-thick flat vellum stock poster is in good/decent (B/B-) condition; tack/pin holes in all four corners and top/bottom center, along with a pair of decent-sized tape pulls in the top/bottom center margins (the pull in the lower margin takes out most of the ticket line), plus a pair of pieces of clear tape in the lower corners, a tiny stain in the bottom right corner, a few ultra tiny pin-prick surface stains, light handling, a touch of toning and a series of tape pulls/remnants on the reverse, otherwise fine- the actual image area is pretty clean on this one.
An overall decent-looking example of this early BG series poster, and one of only a few Bill Graham Fillmore posters that were not reprinted. This is also one of the very first shows Janis Joplin performed with Big Brother, as she had only joined the band about 2 weeks before this show.
