Pair of original 1st printing 8&1/2 x 11" (*appx.) concert flyers for rock & roll pioneer Bo Diddley appearing with Quicksilver Messenger Service at the Avalon Ballroom in San Francisco, CA from 7/28-30/1966. Art by Stanley Mouse and Alton Kelley, image is # 18 in the Family Dog/Avalon series, set includes one each of the red ink (OHB-A) and red/brown ink (OHB-C) versions. Thin flat stock flyers are both in decent (B/B- to B-) condition; both examples have corner/edge wear (rounded/soft corners on the OHB-A, a series of small-to-decent-sized "mouse bites" along the bottom/right margins of the OHB-C,), the OHB-A has four flattened creases, a bit of edge toning, a small bend or two in the upper part of the "o" of "Bo", both have a minor degree of handling wear and a few stray smudge marks/tiny pin-prick splatter stains around the edges, but the central images on both are pretty sharp. A very nice pair of ORIGINAL 1966 Mouse/Kelley-designed Avalon flyers.
