Original 1st printing (large format) 16&1/2 x 27&3/4" concert poster for the Grateful Dead appearing with It's A Beautiful Day and Theater of Madness at the H.I.C. Exhibition Center in Honolulu, HI from 7/25-27/1969* (show canceled). Art by Rick Griffin, image ("Hawaiian Aoxoamoxoa") is featured in the Art of Rock book on page 291 (plate 3.116 (reprint)- what we are offering is the XL 1st edition). Medium-thick flat index stock (there is also a glossy coated index stock version) poster is in very good to excellent (B/B+ to B+) condition; tack holes with a couple of tiny pulls and surface dings in each of the four corners, a 2" diagonal bend in the top right corner, a few thin edge creases and a pronounced curl to the paper (it was rolled up for many years), otherwise fine... an overall FANTASTIC-looking 1st printing example of one of the most coveted Grateful Dead images of all time. As an additional note of provenance, this particular example comes RIGHT from the collection of a long-time GD employee who had this poster in their possession since the time of the shows (or what would have been the shows). KILLER!!!!!!
