Original 1st printing 17&3/8 x 25" concert poster for the Grateful Dead appearing with Moby Grape, Love (with Arthur Lee) and Blue Crumb Truck Factory appearing at Winterland in San Francisco, CA on 3/3/1967* (after a few false starts, this was actually the very first GD appearance at Winterland). Art by Herrick, image ("The First Annual Love Circus") is featured in the Art of Rock on page 188 (plate 2.194). Medium-thick flat vellum stock poster is in excellent (B+) condition; a set of staple holes in all four corners (the top right corner has a small pull and a tiny edge tear), a 1/4" tiny oil stain just to the right of "Costumes", a stray pinch ding here and there and a trace of toning, otherwise a fantastic-looking example of this classic early Grateful Dead image. Charles Perry details the Dead's participation at the show, the involvement of the SF Diggers and the promoters ("Love Conspiracy Commune") in his book "Haight-Ashbury- A History".
