Original 1st printing 14 x 20" concert poster for Andy Warhol's Exploding Plastic Inevitable featuring the Velvet Underground (featuring Lou Reed and John Cale) and Nico ("Pop Girl of '66") and the Mothers (featuring Frank Zappa) at the Fillmore Auditorium in San Francisco, CA on 5/27-29/1966. Art by Wes Wilson, image is # 8 in the Bill Graham/Fillmore series. Medium flat vellum stock poster is in good/decent (B to B/B-) condition; tiny tape residue marks in all four corners with a pair of tiny pin holes in the top corners, light handling, a few scattered light surface stains, small scuffs on "Presents" and "Warhol", a thin 1" tape pull at the bottom of "Streets", a 3/8" tear in the left center margin, a 1/4" tear in the top margin, a hint of toning and light handling, otherwise a very presentable example of one of the first Fillmore posters. Apparently Andy and the Velvet Underground didn't endear themselves to Bill Graham, as this was their only time appearing at the Fillmore.
