Original 1st printing 14&1/4 x 26&3/8" concert poster for the Grateful Dead with Quicksilver Messenger Service and Big Brother & the Holding Company (with Janis Joplin) at Winterland in San Francisco, CA on 10/31/1967. Art by Alton Kelley, Stanley Mouse and Rick Griffin, image ("Trip or Freak") is featured in the Art of Rock on page 185 (plate 2.183). Medium-thick flat index stock poster has been professionally restored to excellent to near mint (B+ to B+/A-) condition; a set of well-camouflaged horizontal folds (reinforced on the reverse with thin strips of rice paper, along with the outer border), filled tack holes (all four corners), a flattened diagonal bend in the lower left corner and a few VERY tiny areas of in-painting, but most of the cosmetic stuff is all but obliterated by the detailed design- whomever worked on this one did a REALLY good job.... a truly gorgeous example of this classic Grateful Dead/QMS/BBHC/Mouse/Kelley/Griffin image from the AOR, this poster would look SPECTACULAR in a frame.
