Original 1st printing 14 x 20&5/8" concert poster for the Grateful Dead with Quicksilver Messenger Service and Big Brother & the Holding Company (with Janis Joplin) at Winterland in San Francisco, CA on 10/22/1967. Art by Mari Tepper, image is featured in the Art of Rock on page 193 (plate 2.205). Medium-thick flat vellum stock poster is in used (B-) condition; a series of horizontal/vertical bends/folds (item was folded up into 16ths), light to moderate creasing, edge wear (several small scattered nicks and tiny tears, staple/pin holes and a couple of small pulls in the corners and around the edges, a 3" horizontal tear in the bottom right margin (repaired on the reverse with clear tape), a small stain/tape mark on the "a" of "Dead"... this one was quite obviously up at the time of the event and shows a bit of wear, but it's becoming one of the harder-to-find early SF Dead posters. This one actually would look very charming in a frame, many of the cosmetic flaws are well-camouflaged by Mari's design. Check out the show (with one of the earliest versions of "the Other One", complete with alternate lyrics) HERE: http://archive.org/details/gd67-10-22.sbd.miller.18101.sbeok.shnf
