Original 1st printing 13 x 20" silkscreen concert poster for Big Brother & the Holding Company (with Janis Joplin), Quicksilver Messenger Service and the Universal Parking Lot in a benefit for the Lick Wilmerding School at the Avalon Ballroom in San Francisco, CA on 12/27/1966. Art by P. Linenthal, Thick flat pulpy vellum stock hand-pulled silkscreen poster is in excellent (B+) condition; a set of tack/pin holes in each of the four corners and at the top center, a couple of minor bends in the upper left corner and a couple of ultra-minor surface dings, otherwise fine. Real oddball Avalon benefit poster, this is the yellow/black ink version (there is also a blue/black version) with "The Universal Parking Lot" (presumably a late addition to the bill) hand-stamped in red ink at the bottom center... a very nifty (and unusual) Avalon poster indeed! |
