Set of (3) original 1st printing items from the Kaleidoscope in Los Angeles, CA; a mint/near mint 8&1/2 x 11" thin paper schedule flyer for the "First Quasi-Annual Film Orgy", held from 5/3-5/1968 and a pair of tri-fold 8&1/2 x 11" and 8&3/4 x 11" schedules/brochures ("Kaleidoscoop") for "Kaleidoflicks", from 3/27-5/1/1968 and 6/7-7/13/1968. The brochures also list several concerts associated with corresponding posters, including the Easter Special with Canned Heat, the Fever Tree, Don Ellis (also the featured musical act for the Film Orgy), Love/Rhinoceros/Taj Mahal, Byrds/Crazy World of Arthur Brown/Frumious Bandersnatch, Electric Flag/Smokestack Lightnin'/Illinois Speed Press, Sly & the Family Stone and Big Brother and the Holding Company (featuring Janis Joplin) along with film classics "Doctor Strangelove", "Black Orpheus", "Zulu" and more. The yellow brochure is in mint/near mint (A/A-) condition, while the purple one has numerous pencil/pen sctratches/notes and a fair amount of wear along the top edge (small tears, toning and a few good-sized nips out of the top edge)... I'd give it about a B- overall, but it's still very interesting- the only one I've ever seen. A SUPER-unusual and fascinating set of Kaleidoscope items, definitely from a historic/cultural viewpoint. Apparently all of the concerts over a certain period were accompanied by films, making the club a bit more of an all-encompassing entertainment experience. I never knew film played such a large part of the Kaleidoscope experience, but here's the evidence.
