Original 1st printing 18 x 24&1/8" concert poster featuring the 5/20-6/27/1971 schedule of shows at Bill Graham's Fillmore East in New York City; shows/performers listed include: Leon Russell with Taj Mahal (5/20-23), Lee Michaels and Fanny with special guests Humble Pie (5/28-29), Laura Nyro (5/30), Frank Zappa & the Mothers of Invention with Head Over Heels (6/4-5, including an unannounced appearance by John Lennon and Yoko Ono), Bloodrock with Glass Harp and Alice Cooper (6/11-12), B.B. King (6/18-19), Johnny Winter with Edgar Winter's White Trash (6/24) and the Allman Brothers Band with the J. Geils Band (6/25-27).
Design by David Byrd, image is # 11 (the final poster) in the Bill Graham/Fillmore East series and is featured in the Art of Rock on page 158 (plate 2.93).
Thin glossy stock poster is in good (B) condition; there is a decent-sized smoke stain/discoloration in the lower right corner/margin (about 1&1/2-2" long) from the BGP warehouse fire, along with a hard 1" diagonal bend in the upper left corner, a small bend and a couple of tiny crinkles along the upper right margin, a hint of moisture ripple to the paper, a few tiny handling/stress creases hiding within the image area and a couple of soft bends lurking around the outer margin area, otherwise fine.
An overall fine-looking example of the final Fillmore East poster.
