Original 1st printing 13&3/4 x 22&1/8" concert poster for Big Brother & the Holding Company (featuring Janis Joplin), appearing with the Blue House Basement, the Giant Sunflower and the Light House at the Continental Auditorium (Ballroom) in Santa Clara, CA on 1/28/1967. Art by Lee Cannon, medium to medium-thick flat vellum stock poster is in good/decent (B/B-) condition; there are a couple of tiny areas of missing paper in the upper left corner and lower right margin, along with moderate amount of corner wear (bits of tape shadowing, multiple pin/staple holes and a 1" diagonal tear in the lower left corner), a set of staple holes in the bottom center margin, light handling, a hint of toning and a trace of surface wear- you get the idea. This example was most likely (hastily) removed from public display at the time of the show. The body of the poster is actually still pretty decent-looking (strong/bright/heavy ink) and the corner/edge issues would probably clean up nicely with a good restoration job. Very visually appealing low-run early-'67 Big Brother concert artifact.
