Original 1st printing 8&3/8 x 10&7/8" 18-page concert/event program for the Palace of Fine Arts Festival, held at the P.F.A. in San Francisco, CA from 8/30-9/2/1968 Design by Chuck Arnett (cover painting of Janis Joplin) and San Andreas Fault (lettering), program contains photos/bios of festival participants Santana, Kaleidoscope (with David Lindley), Big Brother & the Holding Company (with Janis Joplin), Grateful Dead, Quicksilver Messenger Service, Ace of Cups, Lamb, Crome Syrcus, Steve Miller Band, the Youngbloods, H.P. Lovecraft, Country Weather and MANY more, along with ads for Big Brother's "Cheap Thrills" album, KSAN-FM, full page poster-image ads for BOTH the BG 135 (Lee Conklin)and FD 136 (Roger Weil) shows and much more. Thick semi-gloss-coated index stock cover (thin glossy stock page interior) program is in excellent (B+) condition; just a minor bit of surface wear on the front/back covers (a couple of thin horizontal bends near the spine, light scuffing and a couple of tiny pin-prick spots and a tiny stress bend on the reverse cover) and a slightly bent top right corner tip on a couple of the interior pages, but for the most part it is a REALLY nice-looking specimen- no missing pages, doodles, stains, excessive handling or any other indication that the item survived the rigors of a multi-day festival. VERY uncommon late-'68 San Francisco event program with an incredible all-star lineup.
