Official (artist-issued) 1992 commemorative/2nd printing 23 x 35" silkscreen concert/event poster (printed with blue glitter on gold paper) for "A Tribute to Sparkle Plenty", the SECOND Family Dog event, held at Longshoreman's Hall in San Francisco, CA on 10/24/1965.

 

 Performers listed include: the Lovin' Spoonful, the Charlatans, Larry Hankin (the Committee) and MC Russ "The Moose" Syracuse".

 

Art by (and SIGNED in pencil by) Ami Magill, image pre-dates the numbering system in the Family Dog/Avalon series and is featured in the Art of Rock book on page 94 (plate 2.12 -green foil version (FD-II in the Eric King guide).

 

 Thick smooth metallic foil stock poster is in excellent (B+) condition; there are a few random soft pinch dings scattered around the image/margin area, a bit of flaking to the glitter (look out, it gets everywhere), a thin stress bend or two hiding within the image area and a couple of ultra-thin tiny pressure creases in each corner, otherwise fine.

 

 A GREAT alternative to the next-to-impossible locate 1st edition of this VERY early Family Dog image, most of which either got destroyed or are in permanent collections.
