Original 1st printing 17 x 21" concert poster for a benefit for the L.A. Free Clinic, held at the Aquarius Theatre in Hollywood, CA on 3/31/1969.
Acts listed include: the Mothers of Invention (featuring Frank Zappa and Lowell George, later of Little Feat), Captain Beefheart & the Magic Band (the debut performance of the "Trout Mask Replica" band), Jethro Tull (first L.A. appearance), Dillard & Clark, Chicago (*Transit Authority), Linda Ronstadt, Red Beans & Rice, Buddy Miles, Southwind and Illinois Speed Press.
Design by Fitzpow! Graphics, medium-thick flat vellum stock poster is in good/decent (B to B/B-) condition; there is a light amount of toning, tack/pin holes and old tape shadows in all four corners and in the top/bottom center margins, a few small edge nicks/tiny tears scattered around the outer margin area, a few thin bends and light handling creases here and there, a few thin vertical bends and a slight discoloration going down the left margin, otherwise OK- a bit on the used side, but still presentable.
INCREDIBLY COOL early-'69 multi-act benefit poster from Los Angeles, highlighted by the debut performance of songs from Captain Beefheart's masterpiece "Trout Mask Replica". Check out photos from the show HERE:
