Original 1st printing 15&7/8 x 24&1/8" cardboard boxing-style concert poster for "Band Bash", a pre-Christmas extravaganza featuring appearances by Moby Grape, Sons of Champlin, Morning, Glory, Freedom Highway, Baltimore Steam Packet, Tiny Hearing Aid Co., Beat-ables, Axons and the Nite-Riders, held at the Santa Venetia Armory in San Rafael, CA on 12/23/1966. Poster also lists (along the bottom margin) "Coming- December 29 1966 - THE "GRATEFUL DEAD". Design by (and printed by) Tilghman Press, thick cardboard stock poster has been professionally restored to very good/excellent (B/B+ to B+) condition; the lower left corner has been patched-in/replaced (about 2" square), along with a series of light surface touch-ups, pressed-out stress creases (several thin creases remain), a number of edge/margin repairs, etc.. definitely a lot of work, but it's a pretty exceptional restoration job. There's also a bit of wear/creasing/light discoloration and a tiny bit of pen scratch on the reverse, but it obviously doesn't affect the front. UNBELIEVABLY COOL late-'66 cardboard poster from the Ralph and Al Pepe series, this one features a great boxing-style design and an even better lineup of regional acts. As far as Grateful Dead posters go, there can't be too many of these out there.
