C. late-1980's/early-1990's ORIGINAL 13&5/8 x 18&1/4" (approximately- edges are hand-torn) pencil artwork on tracing paper by the inimitable Rick Griffin. Titled "The Gates of Hell Shall Not Prevail (Jesus Saves from Hell), it is unknown exactly what this piece was for (I've heard it was for a t-shirt design, but nothing concrete), but it's definitely a VERY dense/wild image- the photo should pretty much speak for itself (an angel choking the sh*t out of the devil). There are a few tiny pin-prick age spots and light surface smudges here and there, along with the aforementioned irregular/hand-torn edges, mild/light toning, a few thin bends scattered around the outer edges and within the image area... a letter grade is irrelevant in this case, as it is a one-of-a-kind original piece of production material, but overall it looks SUPERB. The design is mostly all there. REALLY cool-looking one-of-a-kind Rick Griffin ORIGINAL pencil drawing, right from the artist's studio!
