 ITEM DESCRIPTION

Original 1st printing 15 x 29" concert poster for the Grateful Dead appearing with the New Riders of the Purple Sage at Northrop Auditorium in Minneapolis, MN on 10/19/1971. *this was Keith Godchaux' first live performance with the Dead.

Art by Alton Kelley and Stanley Mouse, medium-thick semi-gloss stock poster is in good to very good (B to B/B+) condition; there are a couple of semi-pronounced tape shadows along the top/bottom margins, a series of ultra-tiny pin-prick surface spots and small stains placed strategically around the image area/borders, a trio of ultra-thin hairline horizontal bends traversing the image area, a slight pull and tiny tear in the bottom margin, a slight amount of moisture warping and a a slight curl to the paper otherwise fine.

While the image turns up fairly frequently, this particular show is notable not only for being Keith's first show, but also for the debut performances of SIX classic Grateful Dead songs: "Jack Straw", "Tennessee Jed", "Mexicali Blues", "Comes a Time", "Ramble on Rose" and One More Saturday Night"; stream the show (as broadcast on KQRS-FM) HERE:
