Original 1st printing 13 x 21&7/8" concert poster for Big Brother & the Holding Company (featuring Janis Joplin) appearing with the MC5 and Pink Peech Mob on 3/1/1968 and with Tiffany Shade and Family Dumptruck on 3/2/1968, both shows held at the Grande Ballroom in Detroit, MI.

 Art by (and SIGNED in pencil by) Gary Grimshaw with a photo by Irving Penn, image is # 71 in the Russ Gibb Presents/Grande series and is featured in the Art of Rock book on page 299 (plate 3.141). 

 Medium flat index stock poster has been professionally restored to excellent (B+) condition; there are pin/staple hole fills in each corner, a couple of areas of touch-up on the left center border of the image area, and there is a bit of moisture rippling to the paper. a touch of toning, a set of tape pulls on the reverse and a series of thin scratch indentations in the lower part of the photo, otherwise it is a VERY nice-looking ARTIST-SIGNED 1st-printing example of this early-'68 Grimshaw-designed Grande poster.
