Original 1st printing 14 x 22" concert poster for the Jimi Hendrix Experience appearing with Sly & the Family Stone (not listed) at Bill Graham's Fillmore East in New York City on 5/10/1968. Art by David Edward Byrd, image is featured in the Art of Rock on page 157 (plate 2.90) and is the 7th image in the BG/FE series. Medium-thick flat index stock poster is in good to very good (B to B/B+) condition; there is a bit of pencil scratch going across Bill Graham's name*, along with a long thin vertical crease running the entire length of the left margin, a few soft crescent-shaped pinch bends and thin stress bends hiding around the outer edges of the central image, a tiny tack hole indentation in the top center margin (and a tiny one in the bottom center margin, a few tiny pin-prick surface spots/light smudges here and there and a hint of surface wear, otherwise fine. *this was the VERY FIRST example to come off the press, the printer wasn't sure if Bill Graham's name was supposed to be on the poster twice, so he scratched it out and set it aside as a test proof (in case he had to re-strip the image). It has also been hand-trimmed (by the printer himself), so the edges are ever-so-slightly angled on a couple of sides, but it is VERY subtle. This poster was originally obtained from the original printer in the 1990's. KILLER (and VERY unique) example of the ORIGINAL 1st-printing Hendrix poster from the legendary May '68 Fillmore East shows.
