Original 1st printing 8&1/2 x 11" mailed concert flyer for the Grateful Dead appearing with Moby Grape and the Steve Miller (Blues) Band at the Avalon Ballroom in San Francisco, CA from 12/23-24/1966.

 

 Art by Victor Moscoso, image is # 40 in the Family Dog/Avalon series (FD 40 OH-B in the Eric King guide, this example is machine-addressed mailer with a canceled 5 cent stamp (dated Dec. 20,1966).

 

 Thin flat stock flyer is in excellent (B+) condition; there are a pair of semi-flattened horizontal bends (as issued, folded into 1/3rds), a few stray handling dings, a tiny 1/2" bend in the lower left corner tip and the aforementioned address/stamp on the reverse, but overall this example is pretty sharp/crisp (and one of the few I have seen without staple holes).

 

 VERY uncommon late-'66 Avalon mailer, complete with the original canceled stamp!
