Original 1st printing 23 x 29" uncut printer's proof sheet (concert poster and (8) handbills (top/bottom handbills are cut) for "An American Music Show", an all-day event held at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, CA on 9/5/1968.
Art by Raphael (Bob) Schnepf and John Van Hamersveld, image is featured in the Art of Rock book on page 277 (plate 3.71) and lists appearances by: Joan Baez, the Everly Brothers, the Byrds, Big Brother & the Holding Company (with Janis Joplin), Country Joe & the Fish, Buddy Guy & Junior Wells, Wilson Pickett and the Mothers of Invention (with Frank Zappa).
Medium-thick glossy-coated index stock poster is in near mint to excellent (A-/B+ to B+) condition; only a minor amount of surface wear (a few ultra-thin scratches/fingerprints and a trace amount of the usual "scuffing" issues inherent to several of the Pinnacle posters), plus a stray fingerprint or two hiding within the image area, a small 3/4" diagonal pressure crease in the top center margin and a soft 1" bend in the top center margin of the poster, otherwise it is a GORGEOUS-looking UNCUT example of this colorful 1968 Pinnacle image from the AOR book.
One of the more playful images in the Pinnacle series, this show also acted as a benefit for the L.A. Free Clinic.
