 ITEM DESCRIPTION
Original 13 x 17" hand-rendered artwork (art pen with pencil underlines + collage/hand-cut overlays hand-rendered artwork on thick vellum paper) for "ALL DANCE #1 (King Kong Dervish)", a concert featuring the Sopwith "Camel", (the) Quicksilver Messenger Service and the Charlatans at the Fillmore Auditorium in San Francisco, CA on 2/18/1966 (*this was the night before the FD #1 Tribal Stomp show and shortly after the BG #1 show, roughly two weeks before the Family Dog's own "King Kong" dance).

Art by Collins (I heard Robert, but I can't confirm), the piece is in very good shape (no letter grade applies, as this is a one-of-a-kind original art); there are a few touch-up/corrected areas with small patches of white-out around a couple of the letters (band names), along with a set of tack holes, a bit of toning, a few surface scuffs, a hand-cut right edge and the artist's phone number in pencil on the reverse, but overall it is in REALLY nice shape for a now 50-YEAR-OLD piece.

Not only does this come from one of the EARLIEST rock dances held at the Fillmore (when it was still being used by multiple promoters, Bill Graham had yet to secure the lease), but it looks FANTASTIC! The design is VERY tightly rendered and really shows an advanced technique that goes FAR beyond what a lot of artists were doing at the time... HIGHLY sophisticated in terms of design/layout in comparison to a lot of what was circulating at the time. An INCREDIBLE ORIGINAL 1966 FILLMORE ARTWORK!!!
