Original 1st printing (1st state/version- original dates NOT blacked out with magic marker) 7 x 11" concert flyer/oversized handbill for the Grateful Dead appearing with Charlie Musselwhite and Petris at the Carousel Ballroom in San Francisco, CA from 5/30-6/1/1968. Art by Alton Kelley, image ("Memorial") is featured in the Art of Rock book on page 179 (plate 2.160). Medium flat index stock flyer is in good/decent (B to B/B-) condition; there are a pair of small wedge tears in the second "m" of "Memorial", along with a number of pin/staple holes and wear/creasing in all four corners (and a stray staple hole or two hiding within the image area), a semi-flattened center crease, series of light pinch/handling dings, a few loose edge nicks and a tiny surface stain or two lurking around theborder area, otherwise fine. Overall, a very charming (slightly used) first-state version of this killer Grateful Dead image from the Carousel. *This is the "un-blocked dates" version; a fair amount of the existing examples were distributed with the days of the week (Friday/Saturday/Sunday) at the top of the image blacked out with magic marker.
