Original 14 x 20" black line (art marker with pencil underlines) hand-rendered artwork on textured artist's vellum, along with a 1st printing 14 x 20" full-color poster and 5 x 7" handbill for "The Rite of Winter", a concert/event featuring the Steve Miller Blues Band appearing with Jesse Fuller at the North Face Ski Shop (originators of the North Face brand of outerwear) in San Francisco, CA from 11/14-15/1967.
Art by Weyman Lew, image is featured in the Art of Rock book on page 203 (plate 2.232).
Original art is in FANTASTIC shape; there are a few minor surface scuffs here and there, along with Weyman's hand-written notes to the printer on the reverse ("Orange", "Pro Red" and "Pro Blue" in red flair pen), a touch of light toning around the edges and a whisper of handling, but overall it is in REALLY clean condition for an almost-49-year-old piece of original art- NO paste-ups/white-out corrections or denigrated areas at all. The poster and handbill are both on medium flat index stock, both in near mint (A-) condition- just a few light handling dings, a whisper of moisture rippling and a slight yellow roller mark from the press on the poster, almost no visible flaws on the handbill.
VERY, VERY COOL one-of-a-kind HAND-DRAWN artwork from a semi-obscure late-'67 San Francisco event, with an original poster and handbill to go along with it.
