Original 1st printing 14 x 20" concert poster for the Grateful Dead making their New York City debut at the legendary Cafe Au Go-Go in Greenwich Village from 6/1-10/1967 (some dates may have changed, Deadbase lists the dates as June 6-11). Art by Daniel Fennell, image is featured in the Art of Rock book on page 305 (plate 3.163). Medium-thick flat vellum stock poster is in very good to excellent (B/B+ to B+) condition; a set of tack holes (all four corners), a few thin diagonal creases and a slight roll bend along the lower left margin/corner, a light amount of edge wear (a few tiny dings/nicks scattered around the outer margin area), a tiny diagonal pull in the bottom left corner tip, a couple of VERY well-hidden thin stress creases along the top edge and a whisper of handling/surface wear, otherwise fine. A REALLY nice-looking bright example of this oft-requested Grateful Dead image from the AOR, the interior gatefold of the Dead's 1974 "Steal Your Face" album has a 1967 photo of the band standing in front of a wall in NYC plastered with this very same poster (see photo -*(c). Rosie McGee).
