Original 1st printing 5&3/8 x 7&5/8" concert handbill for Big Brother & the Holding Company (featuring Janis Joplin- *her debut performances with the band) appearing with Quicksilver Messenger Service at the Avalon Ballroom in San Francisco, CA from 6/24-25/1966.
Art by Stanley Mouse (who has also HAND-SIGNED this example in pencil) with Alton Kelley, image ("Zig-Zag Man") is # 14 in the Family Dog/Avalon series. *This is the gold-logo version (OHB-A in the Eric King guide).
Thin flat stock handbill is in excellent to near mint (B+ to B+/A-) condition; aside from a pair of ultra-soft diagonal bends in the upper right corner, a few tiny bits of blue ink spread (inherent to the printing) and a whisper of handling wear, this is probably one of the nicest-looking examples that I have personally seen.
An absolutely GORGEOUS original specimen of the classic "Zig Zag Man" with a HUGE Mouse signature.
