Original 1st printing 13&5/8 x 20&7/8" undated concert poster for the weekly "Tuesday Night Jam", a local musician's gathering held at the Carousel Ballroom in San Francisco, CA during the spring of 1968. Art by Stanley Mouse, image ("Tuesday Night Pig Jam") is featured in the Art of Rock on page 181 (plate 2.170). Medium flat index stock poster is in ULTRA-sharp mint/near mint to near mint (A/A- to A-) condition; with the exception of a nearly-invisible edge ding or two and the slightest whisper of surface wear, it is an absolutely UNBEATABLE crisp/sharp example of this classic Mouse-designed Carousel image from the AOR. According to author Rhoney Stanley in her recent book "Owsley and Me", the sleepy-eyed pig is a portrait of none other than jam host Elvin "Pigboy Crabshaw" Bishop! A tape also circulates of the 5/21/1968 jam, which featured Jorma Kaukonen and Jack Casady (Jefferson Airplane), Jerry Garcia and Mickey Hart (Grateful Dead), Elvin Bishop, Steve Miller and Will Scarlett (not on the LMA, unfortunately).
