Original 1st printing 14 x 22" boxing-style concert/event poster for the "Jamaica World Music Festival", a three-day event held at the Bob Marley Performing Arts Center in Montego Bay, Jamaica from 11/25-27/1982. Designer unknown (printed by Colby Poster of Los Angeles, event was promoted by Feyline Productions and Budweiser), image (standard thin paper edition) is featured in the Art of Rock book on page 409 (plate 4.241)- this particular version was printed locally for a Los Angeles-based travel agent (Travel Unlimited/Tom Linton) who was selling full packages (airfare/hotel/tickets) to the event. Thick cardboard letterpress poster lists appearances by the Grateful Dead, the B-52's, Gladys Knight & the Pips, Ronnie Milsap, Jimmy Cliff and Peter Tosh (11/25), the Beach Boys, Aretha Franklin, Squeeze, Stacy Lattisaw, Skeeter Davis, Toots & the Maytals and Black Uhuru (11/26), and Rick James, the Clash, Jimmy Buffett, the English Beat, Bobby (Weir) & the Midnghts, Yellowman and Rita Marley with the Melody Makers (featuring Ziggy & Stephen Marley, 11/27) and is in fantastic near mint (A-) condition; aside from a couple of almost-invisible surface scratches/fingerprint smudges and a tiny corner bump or two, this example is pretty much as sharp as they come. VERY uncommon/unusual version of this poster! Stream the Grateful Dead's portion of the show HERE: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0LPOp7zqd4I
