C. 1989-90 12&4/4 x 10&1/2" Rick Griffin preliminary concept drawing (color art markers with pencil underline) featuring one of Rick's "alter ego" characters, Arthur Pen Dragon.

 Unsigned preliminary/mechanical drawing on thin sketchpad vellum originally came directly from the Rick Griffin estate in sometime the early-mid 1990's; as an ORIGINAL piece directly from the artist's studio, a letter grade is essentially irrelevant- but for the most part, this piece is pretty decent overall... there is a 6 x 2" diagonal wedge of discoloration in the upper left corner/top margin, a series of thin handling dings, a small black ink mark just to the right of the central image and a few relatively minor surface smudges and dings, but overall it is in pretty nice shape.

 REALLY NEAT little FULL-COLOR Griffin sketch!
