Original 20&1/8 x 30&1/2" mixed-media (ink/pencil with overlays) artwork on extra-thick artist's board for the concert poster for "ART 1", the first benefit held for Artist's Rights Today, held at Club 9 in San Francisco, CA on 8/20/1986. The debut benefit featured appearances by Jesse Colin Young, John Cipollina (Quicksilver), Nick Gravenites (Electric Flag), Sal Valentino and Annie Sampson (Stoneground), James Gurley (Big Brother), Richard Olsen (Charlatans) and many more. Art by "the Big Five", Rick Griffin, Alton Kelley, Victor Moscoso, Wes Wilson and Stanley Mouse, the piece is in great shape... there are a few relatively minor issues (a few areas of overlay peeling, a stray smudge or two, a bit of mounting tape residue on the reverse), but overall the piece is in GREAT shape. Hard to tell exactly who did what on this one, but there's definitely a LOT of Victor Moscoso's trademark flourishes hiding all over the place. An absolutely AWESOME-looking TROPHY-LEVEL collaborative artwork with a BEAUTIFUL design.
