Original 1st printing 14&1/2 x 27&3/4" cardboard concert poster for the Grateful ("Greatful") Dead* appearing with the Buddy Miles Express and Pacific Gas & Electric at the Washington Ave. Armory in Albany, NY on 11/15/1970 (also lists upcoming appearances by Richie Havens with Cactus, Hammer and Kathy Smith (12/11) and Chicago with Charlie Brown (1/30/71). *The Dead (who apparently replaced Delaney & Bonnie and Friends) canceled their appearance (although Buddy Miles and PG&E did appear -more on that below) Designer unknown (show promoted by Zebra Enterprises (George Freije), thick flat cardboard stock silkscreen poster is in good (B to B/B-) condition; there are a trio of hard horizontal bends traversing the image area through the PG&E photo, along the bottom of the image border (through "George Freije") and through the black field at the bottom that lists the upcoming shows, plus a small 1" pull just above the arc at the top center of the image area, a series of light surface scrapes/thin scratches, tiny dings/pits, a few tiny edge pulls and a series of very thin horizontal stress bends throughout the piece, otherwise fine. (*the "Greatful Dead" part at the top is a paste-up/sticker) INCREDIBLY SCARCE Dead poster (I have never seen another in 23 years) from a very interesting evening in Albany... there are conflicting reports as to who was ultimately responsible for the Dead's no-show, but you can read the back story and make your own judgments HERE: http://lostlivedead.blogspot.com/2009/12/november-15-1970-armory-albany-ny.html
