Original 1st printing 14 x 20" concert poster for NYC folk/blues/rock legends the Blues Project (featuring Al Kooper) appearing with the Great Society (featuring Grace Slick) at the Avalon Ballroom in San Francisco, CA from 4/22-23/1966.

 

 Art by Wes Wilson, image is # 5 in the Family Dog/Avalon series. This was the first full-color poster in the series, as well as the first Family Dog show held at the Avalon.

 

 Medium-thick flat vellum stock poster is in excellent (B+) condition; just a set of tiny ("cub") staple holes (all four corners), a 1/2" tear in the left center margin, a few light edge dings and tiny creases, a stray soft handling ding or two, a VERY soft set of tape pulls and a tiny bit of pen scratch ("C. Harris" in red ballpoint) on the reverse, otherwise fine. A MIGHTY sharp/crisp example overall.
