Original 1st printing 13&3/4 x 22&3/8" concert poster for the Grateful Dead appearing with Lightnin' Hopkins and the Loading Zone at the Fillmore Auditorium in San Francisco, CA from 10/21-22/1966 (poster also advertises the 10/23 Yardbirds/Country Joe & the Fish show).

 

 Art by (and SIGNED in pencil by) Wes Wilson (with a photo by Herb Greene), image is # 32 in the Bill Graham/Fillmore series (OP-2 in the Eric King guide, this is the vellum stock edition)

 

 Medium thick flat vellum stock poster is in fantastic near mint to excellent (A-/B+ to B+) condition; there is a tiny 1/4" bend in the top left corner tip, a hint of moisture warp ("baconing") and a couple of tiny pin-prick surface dings along the top edge, a whisper of surface wear (one or two tiny pits/dings) and a stray soft pinch ding or two, otherwise it is an unbeatable example of the somewhat hard-to-find vellum stock version of the BG 32.

 

 A GREAT-looking ARTIST-SIGNED specimen of this perennially popular Grateful Dead image from the early days of the Fillmore.
