Original 1st printing (Security Printing Company of NYC) 24 x 38" concert poster for 1960's folk-rock legends Simon & Garfunkel appearing at Philharmonic Hall at Lincoln Center in New York City on 1/22/1967.
Art by Milton Glaser, medium-thick flat index "fly-posting" stock poster has been professionally restored to good (B) condition; a few small to medium-sized edge tears have been sealed, along with a few small paper fills around the outer margin areas, plus there remains a bit of toning, surface wear and a few decent-sized tape pulls running along the top margin from the poster's original state; this example was taken down from public display in late 1966/early 1967, and the restorer was asked to maintain the integrity of the original condition in which it was obtained, so the work is very minimal/non-intrusive.
Due to S&G's massive popularity at the time, this poster was reprinted almost immediately (by Darien House) for merchandising purposes. This version (with the original printer's credit) was the one that was actually used to advertise the show.
ICONIC ORIGINAL 1967 1st-printing Simon & Garfunkel poster by one of the undisputed masters of late-20th century graphic design.
