Original 1st printing (OP-3, the darker purple lettering version) 13&1/2 x 24&5/8" concert poster for Jefferson Airplane, the Paul Butterfield Blues Band and Muddy Waters appearing together at the Fillmore Auditorium and Winterland in San Francisco, CA from 9/23-25 and from 9/30-10/2/1966. (*Winterland shows were canceled/moved back to the Fillmore)
Art by Wes Wilson, image ("The Sound") is # 29 in the Bill Graham/Fillmore series.
Medium flat vellum stock poster has been professionally restored to excellent (B+) condition; there are a couple of tiny staple hole fills (all four corners) and minor surface touch-ups here and there, and there are a series of tiny pin-prick stains in the lower left/right corners (right around either side of the ticket outlet area) and in the upper right corner (just to the right of "Francisco"), otherwise fine.
A VERY nice-looking example of the dark-purple-lettering version of "The Sound". As a side note, these shows were Bill Graham's first extended-engagement bookings, covering two full weeks... they WOULD have been the first Winterland shows, if not for the unfortunate circumstances transpiring in the neighborhood at the time (Hunter's Point riots).
