Original 1st printing (dark gray, OP-2 in the Eric King guide (8 pt. stock) 13&1/2 x 21&1/8" concert poster for the Grateful Dead appearing with the James Cotton Blues Band and Lothar & the Hand People at the Fillmore Auditorium in San Francisco, CA from 11/18-20/1966. Art by Wes Wilson, image is #38 in the Bill Graham/Fillmore series. Medium flat index stock poster is in very good to excellent (B/B+ to B+) condition; a pair of tiny bends in the lower left corner, a few stray edge dings and a 1/4" tear in the left center margin, a series of ultra-thin vertical stress bends (bottom center margin, a few hiding within the lettering, a couple of subtle handling dings/fingerprints and a set of light tape pulls on the reverse, otherwise fine- the poster displays VERY nicely, most of the conditional issues are fairly negligible. An overall FANTASTIC-looking example of the 1st printing BG 38 poster. This is one of the first psychedelic concert posters to incorporate a peace symbol into the design... a CLASSIC period piece if there ever was one.
