Original 1st printing 14 x 21" concert poster for Santana appearing with Steppenwolf and the Staple Singers from 8/27-29/1968 and the Grateful Dead appearing with the Preservation Hall Jazz Band and the Sons of Champlin from 8/30-9/1/1968, all shows held at the Fillmore West in San Francisco, CA. Art by Lee Conklin, image is # 134 in the Bill Graham/Fillmore series. Medium flat index stock poster is in very good to excellent (B/B+ to B+) condition; a series of light moisture ripples (subtle paper warp) throughout the poster, a series of vertical "pinch" creases (these are inherent to part of the print run) extending from various points along the top edge, ranging in size from about 1&1/2" to about 5" (see photo of the reverse), plus a bit of relatively minor corner/edge wear (a 3-4" area of crinkling/creasing along the top left ,margin and a tiny bit of toning/staining and a very small pencil scratch ("134") on the reverse, otherwise fine. A BEAUTIFUL 1st PRINTING example (no holes/tears/stains or any real major damage) of Lee Conklin's oft-requested (and legendary) "Santana Lion" image. Most of the conditional issues are VERY hard to see on this one.
