Original 1st printing 14 x 20" concert poster for the Grateful Dead appearing in their New York City debut at the Cafe Au Go-Go in New York City's Greenwich Village from 6/1-10/1967 (*some dates may have changed). Art by Daniel Fennell, image is featured in the Art of Rock book on page 305 (plate 3.163). Medium-thick flat vellum stock poster is in good to very good (B to B/B+) condition; a set of tack holes (all four corners and 3-4 stray pin holes hiding within the image area), a bit of a subtle moisture wave to the paper, a light to moderate degree of toning, a light amount of edge wear (a few tiny dings/nicks and a bit of fraying in the lower left margin/edge), a couple of tiny thin stress creases (very well camouflaged), light handling wear, a thin 1" tear in the "G" of "Grateful" and a hint of surface wear, otherwise fine. An oft-requested Grateful Dead image from the AOR, the interior gatefold of the Dead's 1974 "Steal Your Face" album has a 1967 photo of the band standing in front of a wall in NYC plastered with this very same poster (see photo).
